KKR winner of IPL7

Kolkata Knight Rider won their second IPL title in a span of three IPL’s. They were calm, focused and relaxed throughout their batting otherwise chasing a 200 runs target in finals wouldn’t be easy for them.

With these win they are set the record of most successive win in an IPL session. They had won nine successive win in one session. Gautam Gambhir has become the only captain after MS Dhoni who has two IPL title on his name.

With Batsmen like Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan, they had the fierce batting line up which can chase any score. Though their Maximum score in whole tournament was around 170 but in final they chased down 200 runs in 19.3 over’s.

Robin Uthappa was the spearhead of their batting. He was the leading runs scorer for KKR and in the tournament. He had scored 660 runs in 16 matches and won Orange Cap in this session.

Manish Pandey, though played some good innings every now and then, wasn’t in his prime form before finals. He must be save his special innings for the finals. He was played one hell of an innings in final which guided his team to the victory. He had scored 94 off 50 balls with six sixes and seven fours.

Experts throughout the tournament said that “KKR has a best bowling set up in this tournament. And KKR had proving them true all through except in final where their bowlers gone for plenty which include Sunil Narine as well. He went for more than 40 runs in his four over’s.

But just one game can’t washed away their all the good work in 15 previous games. They were sharp and crispy, and everyone played their role pretty well. Sunil Narine had missed his test match for West Indies for IPL Final but at the end his decision proved to be worthy. He finished this IPL at second Position in leading wicket takers with 21 wickets.

Morne Morkel, a Proteas fast bowler was another foreign player who had gave his excellent service to them. He was quick and sharp in Powerplay’s. Not only his bowling but also proved to be an asset for team. Indian bowlers like Piyush Chawla and Umesh Yadav was too fantastic in their roles.

After first seven games of Knight’s nobody thought that they would going to win from there. They were persisted with their theme KORBO LORBO JEETBO and finally have a trophy once again.

KXIP a team who won the heart

Kings XI Punjab lost the Final game but certainly won many hearts from their performance throughout this tournament. If one compares their previous six sessions with this one then certainly one must realize and recognize their hard work to come to his far.

KXIP TEAM
© BCCI
They had literally been trashed in all six session in which they finished among bottom three almost all the time. But session, IPL7 had promised much more than just an improved performance than previous sessions for them.

They had taken all the right decision from the auction to finals. Weather it was inclusion of Virender shewag or appointment of George Bailey as Skipper or retaining an inexperience Manan Vohra to team, all these seemed to be going in their ways.

Glenn Maxwell had been proved to be a crucial buy for them. He was fantastic and one of those guys along with Miller who provide them the initial impetus in tournament. He was the leading runs scorer for them with 552 runs in 16 matches.

KXIP wasn’t just all about big foreign or Indian players. They had some great young Indian talent as well. Manan Vohra, Akshar Patel, Wriddhiman Saha, Sandeep Sharma and many others who performed whenever they got a chance to showcase their abilities.
Wriddhiman Saha was proved to be an exceptional player for them. The wicketkeeper batsman scored a century when its matter, Yes in Finale!! But his effort of bring KXIP from nowhere to 199 runs gone in vain.

Akshar Patel was another special talent came to the fore in this IPL. Left-arm spinner had impressed everyone with his consistency and also the ability to bat and field as well. He was awarded with “Emerging Player award”.

Sanjay Banger, the man who working with these boys from behind, surely deserve a lot accolades for his fantastic job. He was the brain (Of course along with many) behind their success.

Although, they lost the finale but undoubted they were the best team of this IPL. They had chased down many 200+ scores with so easy. It would be wrong if one says that they were the one who raised the standard of this year’s IPL so high.
